Payroll Supervisor at Accountancy Matters!

We specialize in providing outsourced accounts services, managing day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll functions for Golf Clubs and leisure companies. We believe in providing our clients with innovative technology and proven processes to elevate their business operations.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Payroll Supervisor. You will be responsible for leading a team of six, managing 30-40 SMEs payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise, motivate, and lead a payroll team, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
  • Hiring and training new payroll team members.
  • Mentor team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Payroll Processing:

  • Comprehensive practical experience of Sage and Brightpay software.
  • Maintain and meet payroll deadlines, overseeing the workload of the payroll team.
  • Review and sign off on payroll activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Balance payroll accounts, resolving discrepancies and ensuring accuracy.
  • Support the processing of new starters, leavers, timesheets, calculating pay, and HMRC submissions.

Customer Support:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalated payroll queries.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, addressing concerns, and setting expectations.
  • Review, monitor, and implement new processes to enhance the efficiency of the payroll department.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices.

About You:

  • Must have previous experience as a Payroll Team Leader.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance.
  • Own transport, within 30 minute’s drive of Hartley Wintney, Basingstoke.
  • Understand that this position is Office based
  • Knowledge of Brightpay/ Sage is favourable
