The Shropshire, a part of the Burhill Group.
Our charming wedding venue, situated on the outskirts of Telford, offers stunning surroundings with picturesque views over the rolling Shropshire countryside.
The 19th century Farmhouse Suite is perfectly suited to ceremonies and receptions for up to 80 guests, for larger groups our permanent marquee in its own private courtyard can seat 140 guests. The private lounge bar provides a stylish and comfortable area for guests to relax between the ceremony and wedding breakfast.

Overview of Role:
Importantly you will be able to demonstrate experience in sales management, particularly in weddings and functions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sales processes and marketing methods, coupled with the ability to adapt, coach, and implement effective business processes and sales techniques.
As the leader of the sales office, including responsibility for golf memberships, and golf events, the primary focus will be on weddings and function sales. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results and leading teams to achieve targets in this area.
This role is suitable for an experienced sales manager looking to take on a broader role with responsibility for multiple revenue streams. The ability to lead and inspire a team, coupled with a strong focus on delivering performance, will be key to success in this position.
• Achieve monthly sales targets for weddings, functions and golf memberships.
• Lead, coach, and develop the team of sales executives to achieve the required KPIs and results.
• Maximize revenue potential and yield through confident price presentation and strong business acumen.
• Induct, train, and provide continuous development and feedback for each sales executive.
• Effectively convert prospects to clients/members through inbound prospects and lead-generated from networking, outreach, and marketing activities.
• Champion all sales activity, including prospecting, follow-up calls, and venue tours.
• Enhance the club’s social media and community presence.
• Be a key member of the club’s leadership team and contribute to creating a great working environment.
• Build rapport with Heads of Department and fully understand all aspects of sales, from weddings through to golf memberships.
About You:
- Proven experience in a similar sales role within the hospitality sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Wedding and Event sales.
- Have your own transport and live within 30 – minutes of Telford.
- Understand the requirement of weekend work.
