Set within the beautiful Kent countryside, Hever Castle offers a truly unique backdrop for entertaining, hospitality, and overnight stays. The elegant Astor Wing combines twenty-seven beautifully appointed bed and breakfast rooms with three interconnected event spaces, all surrounded by stunning lawns and terraces.
Opening in March 2026, the Astor Wing will feature a newly created Bar and Reception space, designed to welcome overnight guests, support events, and complement our fine dining offering, including a 25-cover restaurant.
The position of Bar Manager will be responsible for leading a small team and delivering exceptional beverage service to the highest standards, in keeping with our 5-star environment. This role plays a key part in creating memorable guest experiences across events, dining, and overnight stays.

Position Overview:
The Bar Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering an exceptional 5-star guest experience within the Astor Wing at Hever Castle. This position is responsible for overseeing the bar and reception operation, ensuring seamless service for overnight guests, formal fine dining, and events. The role requires a highly professional, personable individual with strong leadership skills, expert beverage knowledge, and meticulous attention to detail, befitting a luxury heritage environment.
- Deliver consistently exceptional 5-star bar and beverage service to fine dining, event, and overnight guests.
- Curate and maintain a premier drinks offering, with strong knowledge of fine wines, premium spirits, and cocktails.
- Meet-and-greet guests and direct on arrival.
- Lead, train, and develop the bar and service team, managing rotas and ensuring high service standards.
- Oversee ordering, stock control, and stocktaking, maintaining cost control and product quality.
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance across all bar and service areas.
- Manage room setup and layout for service periods and events, coordinating closely with operations and events teams.
- Maintain a personable, polished, and professional demeanour, creating a warm and memorable guest experience.
About You:
- Proven experience in Bar Management in a premium environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as required.
- Own transport and based within a 30-minute commute of Edenbridge, Kent.
- Highly personable and confident communicator.
